Book 2: Redemptions

Book 2 is scheduled to be released 5.5.2026. Everything is ready from my standpoint and the date is firm. Redemptions is quite a bit more ambitious in terms of the scope of the Dark Frontier with a much more complicated plot line and sub plots. It picks up exactly where Reckonings ended. I have also included a map of the Dark Frontier to help orient readers to where things are in relation to each other at least as far as the cities are concerned. I also included a brief recap of Book 1 and a handy character/item reference to help keep track of things.

I'm very excited for the release of this book. Below is the blurb:

Haunted by the loss of her family and driven by questions about her magical abilities that refuse to let her rest, Emmele’s journey leads her to the enigmatic city of Ouros. When Emmele stumbles upon a hidden gateway and awakens a powerful magic within herself, she becomes the target of a ruthless necromancer who believes Emmele is the key to activating the gateway. With her power he intends to open the gateway believing he will unleash creatures that will bring enlightenment to the world.

As political conspiracies ignite between the cities and war appears inevitable, Emmele must navigate a world unraveling under betrayal to destroy the gateway when she learns the creatures will lay waste to the Dark Frontier. An old enemy becomes an unlikely ally, and at the heart of the chaos stands a man from Ruin, whose connection to Emmele’s magic, and to her heart, raises her personal stakes higher than ever.

With cities on the brink of war, an ancient force from another world is waiting to enter the Dark Frontier and destroy it all. Emmele faces impossible choices between saving the Dark Frontier and the man she loves. In a world where the right choice exacts consequences and victories can be marginal, Emmele must choose between her love and the future of the Dark Frontier.

What's Your Process?

Draft 1: I don't think it's important to label myself as either, as I generally believe most writers are at least a bit of both. I am am both, though lean more toward the pantser side of the spectrum.

What's your voice?

Throughout my time spent writing, voice seems to be the most nebulous of concepts. A lot of people put pressure on writers to develop their voice as though it is something someone can sit down and int
